1. Scope
This policy applies to EZPlayer for Apple TV and macOS and to this website. EZPlayer does not operate a user-account system, advertising network, or behavioral analytics service.
2. Data processed by the apps
Your media
EZPlayer reads video, image, subtitle, and related metadata files only from locations you choose, including local folders and SMB shares. Your media is played directly and is not uploaded to EZPlayer or to a server operated by us.
Library and playback information
The apps may store library paths, saved SMB locations, recently used folders, media titles, local artwork references, playback progress, language choices, slideshow preferences, and similar settings on your device.
Credentials
SMB connection details remain on your device and are used only to connect to the server you selected. API tokens for supported metadata or subtitle services are stored using the operating system Keychain where implemented.
3. Optional online services
Online features are disabled until you configure them. If you enable TMDB metadata matching, EZPlayer sends a title derived from the media filename and an optional year to TMDB and downloads selected metadata or artwork. If you enable OpenSubtitles, EZPlayer sends a search query derived from the media filename, your preferred subtitle languages, your OpenSubtitles API key, and—when downloading—your OpenSubtitles session token. Your account password is sent only to OpenSubtitles during sign-in to obtain that token and is not stored by EZPlayer.
Third-party services process information under their own policies. See TMDB’s privacy policy and OpenSubtitles’ privacy policy.
4. Website data
This website does not set advertising cookies and does not include client-side analytics. It stores only your language preference in your browser. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard request information such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, and security events to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
6. Your choices
- Do not configure an online service if you want a fully local experience.
- Remove saved libraries and credentials from the app settings.
- Clear app data by uninstalling the app.
- Disable browser storage to prevent the website from remembering your language.
7. Children and security
EZPlayer is a general-purpose media player and is not directed to children. We use platform security features and limit network requests to features you initiate, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product changes. The date above identifies the latest version. Questions can be sent through the Support page.
